Atomic Number, Mass Number, and Isotopes

In science class we took up yesterday's homework on atomic theories. We then began a new lesson. Students learned that the atomic number describes the number of protons in an atom and that the number of neutrons can be found by subtracting the atomic number from the mass number. We also learned about isotopes, which fascinated the Grade 9 students. They reluctantly left the class with their brains buzzing.

Students are asked to complete the learning tracker about atomic theories for homework.
