Understanding Ecosystems

After taking a couple of minutes to learn something new about each other, the Grade 9 Science class dove right into work on our first unit - Biology. We discussed the course outline and the order in which units will be taught this year. We will be conducting experiments through the course of the year. This needs to happen with a focus on safety. SJA's Science Safety contract explains the rules and procedures for conducting experiments. Please take time to read through and sign the contract. We discussed what is understood by the term 'sustainable ecosystems'. Students read and discussed scenarios where changes were being observed in the environment.

 Homework & Reminders:

  • Read and sign SJA's Science Safety contract
  • Complete Q. 3 of Something to Lose p. 21
  • Read p. 29 & 30 before tomorrow's science class
  • Bring your science notes and textbook to class everyday
  • Sign up as a follower of the blog if you haven't already
